FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is Tubing on the Apple River?
The Apple River Tubing experience is renowned in the Midwest and has been for over 40 years. The famous trip involves floating on a tube down the scenic and exciting Apple River for roughly 3 hours, enjoying the outdoors with friends, and relaxing with food and drinks. The thrilling rapids of the winding river deliver a fun ending to the peaceful float. After you ride the rapids as many times as you want, you can exit the river and catch the free shuttle bus from the Dairy Queen back to River's Edge at your leisure (so you can grab some food before you come back). Be sure to check Upcoming Specials/Events for weekly upcoming tubing specials. We know you'll have an awesome time tubing the Apple!
How does my camping and tubing package work?
When you purchase a Camping Package at River's Edge Resort, each member of your group receives a voucher for each night you are staying. Each voucher is good for one day of tubing (i.e. 1 night package = 1 voucher = 1 day of tubing). We only accept vouchers for tubing from registered campers. As long as you camp with us, you will have UNLIMITED access to all facilities (waterslides, mini-golf, volleyball, swimming pool, etc.). Make sure you bring one VALID ID per every 4 tubes you rent. Check Upcoming Specials/Events for upcoming camping specials such as Ladies Night, Student Camping, and more!
How does the Pre-Pay Special work?
The pre-pay special is a discounted camping and tubing package. To reserve a pre-pay special, you must pay in advance. Pre-pay is optional, so only part of the group can pre-pay if desired. When registering, however, the pre-pay admission wristbands will only be distributed to the person whose name is on record for the reservation. A presentation of I.D. is required. So for the sake of convenience, we suggest you organize the arrival times for members of your party. We recommend reserving a pre-pay because it's our best deal.
Can you bring food and drinks down the Apple River?
We offer tubes that can fit plastic coolers of all sizes so you can bring food and beverages with you down the river, making it that much more relaxing and enjoyable. We take pride in keeping our Apple River clean. So in order to protect the environment, be sure to leave glass, styrofoam, and keg beer at home, as it is not allowed on the river.
What is there to do besides tubing on the Apple River?
River's Edge has it all. We offer waterslides, mini golf, an outdoor heated swimming pool, Saturday night karaoke and DJ, a beautiful nostalgic Restaurant, volleyball, horseshoes, arcade, pool, an outdoor movie theater, breakfast buffets, and much more to make your stay a time to remember.
How many campsites will I need?
We have campspaces of all sizes, so no matter how big your group is, we will find a spot for you. The number of people paid determines the campspace given out. The earlier you reserve, the better chance you'll get the spot you want.
